‘Dead’ Taadi girls: Tiwaa told us kidnappers were demanding a ransom – Family claims

The family of one of the dead girls from Takoradi claim that the CID Boss, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, called to inform them that the kidnappers of their daughter were demanding a ransom on Sunday, March 13, 2019.

Speaking to the media after a Press Conference in Takoradi, Ruth Love Quayson’s mother alleged that “Tiwaa told us that the kidnappers are making demands for ransom so we shouldn’t tell anyone”.

“In April, she (Tiwaa) came out again saying she knows where the girls are so we plead with Maame Tiwaa to go and bring back our girls. The bones can’t be that of our children so they should just return the bones where they took it,” she said.

She further stated that the police promised to give the family the outcome of the results of the forensic test before speaking to the public but this did not happen because before those sent by the acting IGP got to their premises around 7.30 pm, the IGP had already called the media and he was speaking to them.

She confirmed that the family had to snub the call from President Akufo-Addo because he (Akufo-Addo) didn’t give any form of respect to the family when he visited the region recently.

“I’m not sure Nana Akufo-Addo can talk to the family. When he came to region, he couldn’t see the family but when they are bringing us fake report that is when you want to talk to us, we don’t need his call.”

The Acting Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Boanuah, announced on Monday evening that the four missing girls in Takoradi; Ruth Abakah, Priscilla Kuranchie, Ruth Love Quayson, and Priscilla Blessing Bentum, were dead according to a DNA test conduct by the service.
