In a heartfelt confession to his congregation, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, the head pastor of Action Chapel International, opened up about his experiences with pride after conducting deliverance services. He recounted the early days of his ministry when God granted him the power to cast out demons during his ministrations.
As a young man, Duncan Williams admitted to taking credit for his spiritual accomplishments, often overlooking the divine influence at work. He would feel a sense of pride and power when demons would scream and shout during his services, believing that it was a testament to his own anointing.
However, through divine intervention, Duncan-Williams came to understand the importance of attributing his successes in ministry to God. He realized that the demons were not manifesting because of his personal anointing, but rather because of the powerful name of Jesus.
“I used to feel very powerful until the Lord dealt with me and I realized that the demons are not manifesting because I’m anointed. It’s the name of Jesus. It has nothing to do with how anointed you are,” Duncan-Williams shared with his congregation.
He acknowledged that there are small things that people often take credit for, which can be a form of pride, even if they are unaware of it. Duncan-Williams humbly sought God’s forgiveness for these instances.
The Archbishop’s candid confession serves as a reminder to all believers that true spiritual power comes from God and that it is essential to remain humble and give credit where it is due. His experience highlights the importance of recognizing the divine influence in one’s life and ministry, and not falling into the trap of pride and self-glorification.
Through his vulnerability and willingness to share his own journey, Duncan-Williams sets an example for his congregation and encourages them to cultivate a spirit of humility and dependence on God in all aspects of their lives, especially in the realm of spiritual warfare.
