The Eastern Regional NDC Secretariat has bemoaned the callous abandonment of projects started under the erstwhile John Mahama government by the Nana AKufo-Addo administration.
The party was speaking at a press conference addressed by the Regional Communications Officer Darlas Amponsah Williams who indicated that some of the projects located in the region were about 80% complete when the former administration handed over power 0n January 7 2017.
He described the conduct of the current administration as shameful and urged the President to complete the projects because they were started with tax payers’ monies and the same Ghanaians would have to bear the loss that will be occasioned by this reckless abandonment of projects in the Eastern region.
The Eastern region NDC believes the government’s swansong free SHS policy is paying for the project abandonment attitude of the administration.
Darlas Amponsah Williams said the government needs to appreciate the fact that in addressing the issue of accessibility in any educational structure, provision of infrastructure is very key.
“Only God knows for example when second year students on the gold track will be going back to school owing to inadequate infrastructure to accommodate them”.
“Because he is visionless, Nana Akufo-Addo does not even see the need to complete the abandoned Projects to help solve these problems,” he stated
The Eastern Region NDC Spokesperson disclosed that under the John Dramani Mahama, the region benefited heavily from the community day SHS project.
Darlas Amponsah Williams said as at December 2016, Community day senior High Schools were fully completed and populated with students at Nyanoa-Kwaobaa in the upper west akim district, Kwahu Fodoa in the Kwahu West Municipality, Maame Krobo in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District, Akyem Takorasi in the Denkyembour District, Anum Apapam in the Ayensoano district and Mem-Chemfre in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District.
He described as most unfortunate the status of Abetifi Hospital which was designated to be a referral hospital for the entire enclave but has been abandoned since Nana Akuffo Addo assumed office.
The Eastern Region NDC is therefore calling on President Akufo-Addo to as a matter of urgency continue these abandoned Projects which were intended to make life comfortable for the people.

a) University of Environment and Sustainable Donkorkrom Development.
b) Donkorkrom Satellite campus Abandoned
2. NSAWAM ADOAGYIRE
a) Aburi Nsawam Road Left with just 4Kilometres from Adipa Dobro to Obodan Part of the cocoa Road
b) Otukwadwo Chips Compound
c) Canery quarters Chips Compound
d) Panpansokrokese, Nyamebekyere, Kwaku Tawiah and Ningoelectrication Projects
e) Kwasitenten, Bowkrom, Afumkrom, Obaideka Electrification Project
f) Phase 2 Expansion of Nsawam Lorry Station
3. AKUAPEM SOUTH
a) Aburi Market Complex
b) Six unit classroom block at Berekuso
c) Berekuso Road
d) Chip compound at Pakro Zongo
e) Dumpong School and Chip Compound
f) Yaw Duodu Chip compound
