Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has criticized communicators and grassroots supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their sudden admission of issues that plagued the party during its time in government.
The musician-turned-politician, who recently won a parliamentary election, expressed surprise at how NPP members are now blaming the same problems they once defended in previous elections.
In a social media post, A Plus wrote, “Suddenly, NPP communicators and supporters seem to have realized all the issues that led them into opposition. Ironically, they’re claiming that the very problems they insulted us for pointing out in the past are what caused their downfall.”
He further criticized the hypocrisy of some NPP communicators who are now pledging to expose corruption under their former government.
“Just today, I heard an NPP communicator on the radio saying he would guide the NDC government to uncover NPP officials who have stolen from the country.
“So, for eight years, you knew this, yet you remained silent and even attacked those who exposed it? Incredible!!”
A Plus’ comments come amidst growing discontent among the NPP’s grassroots, who blame the party’s leadership for the defeat.
Many have referenced arrogance, neglect of supporters, and alleged state capture as reasons for the loss.
Some have also accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of mismanaging both the government and the party, leading to their return to opposition.
