The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has inaugurated an eleven-member Ministerial Oversight Committee tasked with leading Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the initiative as a major step toward sports transformation in the country.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief of Staff urged the members to work in unity and uphold professionalism as they execute their mandate.
“If we work together, we will make Ghana proud. Let’s make Ghana proud again,” she charged.
The committee will be led by the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, who expressed confidence in the diverse expertise represented on the board.
“This team reflects the government’s commitment to building a resilient and competitive sports sector,” he noted. “We are ready to deliver the results Ghanaians expect as we prepare for the 2026 World Cup.”
Mr. Debrah added that the committee’s work will focus on strengthening coordination among key institutions, mobilizing resources, and ensuring the Black Stars are adequately prepared for the global tournament.

The committee is expected to begin work immediately, ensuring strategic planning, effective stakeholder engagement, and comprehensive supervision of Ghana’s World Cup preparations.
The government has signalled its commitment to restoring confidence in national sports and positioning Ghana for a strong showing on the global stage.
