The latest poll by Global Info Analytics has provided insights into voter religion, ethnicity, and income levels.
Pollster Mussa Dankwah explained that the majority of voters interviewed identified as Christians (71%), Muslims (21%), Traditionalists (4%), and non-religious (3%).
Within Christian groups, Pentecostals dominated, followed by Catholics, Methodists, Presbyterians, and other denominations.
Ethnic composition aligned with national statistics, with Akan at 46%, Mole-Dagbani 12%, Ewe 11%, Ga 9%, and other groups making up the remainder.
Dankwah noted that ethnicity and religion play an important role in party support.
“NPP tends to enjoy more Akan votes, while NDC tends to have more support from Muslim northern voters,” he said on Good Morning Ghana monitored by MyNewsGh.
Income levels were also captured for the first time in this report. About 20% of respondents reported no income, 20% earned below Ghc10,000 annually, 15% earned between 10,000–Ghc30,000, and a small percentage earned over Ghc100,000.
Dankwah emphasized that understanding income distribution provides insight into voter preferences across socio-economic groups.
