The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) has earned high recognition at the 2026 Public Enterprises League Table (PELT) Awards, held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra.
The Authority was adjudged the “Most Innovative Other State Entity,” a distinction that highlights its commitment to advancing innovation within Ghana’s maritime sector. GMA also placed 10th overall on the PELT rankings, recording a strong performance score of 3.903.
Speaking at the event, the Presidential Adviser on the Economy, Seth Terkper, praised the Authority’s achievements, stating, “GMA’s commitment to innovation sets a clear benchmark for other public entities.
Their forward-thinking approach is exactly what is needed to drive efficiency and growth across state institutions.”
In a statement following the awards, GMA attributed the recognition to the strategic leadership of its Board and the dedication of its staff.
“This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in the maritime sector. We remain focused on delivering value and supporting Ghana’s economic development,” the Authority noted.
The Public Enterprises League Table (PELT) Awards serve as a key platform for assessing and recognising the performance of state-owned enterprises across the country, promoting accountability, competitiveness, and operational excellence.
GMA reaffirmed its resolve to sustain its performance and continue implementing innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening Ghana’s maritime industry and contributing to national development.
