Her Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has called on examination officials and stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of fairness and transparency as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) commences across the country.
In a statement issued on her behalf by Ama Pratt, Press Secretary and Spokesperson at the Office of the Vice President, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang extended government’s best wishes to all candidates sitting for the examination this week.
She expressed confidence in the preparedness of the students, noting that their years of dedication, discipline, and hard work have equipped them to perform at their best.
“We are confident that all candidates will give off their very best after years of effort, discipline, and preparation,” the statement said.
The Vice President encouraged candidates to approach the examination with confidence, honesty, and determination, emphasizing the importance of integrity throughout the process.
She also commended the Ghana Education Service, teachers, parents, and all stakeholders for their commitment and tireless efforts in preparing students for the examination.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang further reminded supervisors, invigilators, and school authorities of their critical role in ensuring a credible examination process.
“Maintain the highest standards of fairness and transparency to ensure a credible process and outcome,” she urged.
The BECE is a key national examination that determines placement of students into senior high schools, making the credibility of the process essential to Ghana’s education system.
