The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that all passport applications left incomplete for more than two months after initial submission will be automatically cancelled.
In a public announcement issued in Accra on May 15, the Ministry explained that the directive applies to applications requiring additional vetting, including missing supporting documents, incomplete biometric capture, and pending biometric re-capture.
According to the Ministry, fees paid for such incomplete applications will not be refunded. Affected applicants will therefore be required to begin a fresh application process and pay the applicable fees again.
The Ministry urged passport applicants to complete all required procedures within the stipulated period to avoid cancellations.
It further assured the public of its commitment to improving service delivery and encouraged applicants seeking clarification to contact its 24-hour call centre on 0302 754 200.
