Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has delivered a strong message of national support and encouragement to the Black Stars ahead of Ghana’s opening match against Panama, expressing confidence in the team’s ability to represent the nation with pride, discipline, and excellence on the international stage.

Leading a high-powered delegation to meet the team during their final preparations for the tournament, the Vice President conveyed the goodwill of President John Dramani Mahama, the Government of Ghana, and millions of Ghanaians rallying behind the national team.

The delegation included representatives of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, led by Daasebre Otuo Siriboe II, officials of Ghana’s High Commission led by H.E. Prof. Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, as well as the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headed by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku.

The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to interact with the players and technical team as they fine-tuned preparations for what is expected to be a crucial opening encounter.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that support for the Black Stars transcends regional, political, and social boundaries, noting that Ghanaians from every part of the country are united in their belief that the team can make the nation proud.

She urged the players to approach the competition with determination, focus, and a strong sense of national responsibility, reminding them that they carry the hopes and aspirations of millions of citizens.

On behalf of President Mahama and the people of Ghana, the Vice President wished the team and its technical handlers success in the tournament and encouraged them to give their best for the nation.
