The Government of Ghana has paid GH¢10.82 billion to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), the Ministry of Finance has announced.
The payment, amounting to GH¢10,816,840,318.26, was made fully in cash and on schedule, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
The latest payment brings the total amount paid to bondholders under the DDEP since 2025 to approximately GH¢41.36 billion.
The Ministry described the latest disbursement as the third DDEP coupon payment made entirely in cash, saying the payment had been settled in full and according to schedule.
According to the Ministry, the timely payment demonstrates the government’s fiscal discipline and its commitment to meeting its debt obligations.
It said the development was expected to strengthen investor confidence, reduce Ghana’s sovereign default risk and reinforce the country’s financial credibility.
The government has also assured bondholders, investors and the general public that all future obligations under the DDEP will be paid in full and on schedule.
The DDEP was introduced as part of Ghana’s broader debt restructuring efforts aimed at restoring debt sustainability and rebuilding confidence in the country’s public finances.
