The Inaugural Presidential Council of Accra Reset has expressed strong support for the South African Presidency of the G20, with former Nigerian President H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo delivering the Council’s official message of collaboration.
Speaking on behalf of the Council, President Obasanjo underscored Accra Reset’s commitment to partnering with the G20 through the African Union and South Africa’s leadership role.
“The Accra Reset stands ready to work closely with the G20,” he affirmed. “It is poised to serve as the connective tissue interlinking the public, private, and civil factions of Global South societies.”
He said the initiative intends to reinforce G20-enabled reforms that target transformational development across the continent.
“It aims to work through the African Union and the South African Presidency to advance ongoing G20-enabled reforms in health governance, digital cooperation, development finance, investments with guarantees and assurances for investors, jobs for youth, wealth creation, and resilient supply chains,” he added.
The statement signals Accra Reset’s ambition to play a central role in shaping collaborative development frameworks for the Global South at a time of renewed focus on economic resilience, youth employment, and inclusive growth.
