Scores of Ghanaians who turned up to be part of the Arise Ghana demonstrations remain at the Obra Spot as a result of a standoff between the Ghana Police Service and the leadership of Pressure group Arise Ghana.
While the leadership of Arise Ghana insist on taking the demonstrations through Ring road to the ministries, the police disagree as the route would take the demonstration through the frontage of the private residence of President Akufo Addo.
The demonstrators have therefore decided to remain at Obra Spot located at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange until the police agree to their route.
A leading member of Arise Ghana told Ghanaians gathered at the Obra Spot that the stance of the police is an infringement on the rights of Ghanaians to demonstrate.
