The Attorney General’s decision to drop charges against four of the eight accused persons standing trial for allegedly kidnapping two Canadians in Kumasi has led to their discharge.
The four, Seidu Abubakar alias Mba, Abdul Nasir, Safiano Abubakar and Abdul Rahman Suleimana aka Wofa are the beneficiaries of a new charge sheet submitted by the AG which excludes them as suspects.
The four will therefore be set free because of the move by the AG.
Senior State Attorney, Ms Hilda Craig, told the Accra High Court hearing the case the Attorney-General decided to discontinue the case against the four after receiving the outcome of investigations that have led to the amendment of the original case docket .
The four suspects that will now stand trial for the offence are Samson Aghalor aka Romeo, Elvis Ojeworye, Jeff Omarsar and Yusif Yakubu.
They have been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping.
