The Ghana Chamber of Mines has commended the government for what it describes as a significant breakthrough in efforts to resolve the impasse involving Adamus Resources Limited.
In a statement issued on August 21, 2026, the Chamber welcomed an agreement to implement a 12-month roadmap aimed at turning around the mine, with the process to be supported by a six-member joint management team.
The Chamber said the collaborative approach demonstrated the commitment of the parties to dialogue, investor confidence and the preservation of productive mining assets.
According to the industry body, the successful revival of Adamus Resources is particularly important because it is one of Ghana’s few indigenous large-scale mining operations.
It noted that restoring the mine would help protect jobs, sustain local businesses and host communities, and preserve the company’s contribution to government revenue and the broader mining value chain.
The Chamber also commended the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the leadership of the Minerals Commission for their efforts in finding what it described as a practical way forward.
It equally acknowledged Adamus Resources Limited for its constructive engagement in the process.
The Chamber, however, urged all parties to remain committed to transparency, accountability and the agreed roadmap.
It stressed the need to address outstanding liabilities and secure the investment required to ensure the sustainable operation of the mine.
The Ghana Chamber of Mines said it remains prepared to support initiatives aimed at protecting investments and jobs, promoting responsible local participation and strengthening the long-term contribution of the mining sector to Ghana’s development.
