Dada Kwakye Duah, a Ghanaian musician known as Dada KD, has talked about how some famous people treated him badly during the 2020 general elections. He said that he came up with a plan to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo by putting on musical concerts in the streets.
Dada KD said that he, along with actor Agya Koo and a person named Pasco, told President Akufo-Addo about the idea. The president liked it and gave them money to make it happen.
In an interview with Captain Smart on Onua TV, Dada KD said he felt mistreated when Agya Koo took musical instruments worth GH¢40,000 and Pasco got a Tundra vehicle, but he, the person who came up with the idea, got nothing.
“I met with two people and we went to see the president. Agya Koo and Pasco were the ones I went with. We suggested a campaign plan that involved music and concerts to help Akufo-Addo during the 2024 elections,” Dada KD explained.
“Akufo-Addo answered our request by giving us money and other things. They gave us two billion Ghana Cedis to buy instruments and a car for the street campaign. In the end, Agya Koo took instruments worth GH¢40,000 for himself, Pasco took the Tundra, and I got nothing, even though I was the one who came up with the idea,” he said.
Dada KD said he was disappointed with his colleagues and felt betrayed by what they did.
