Private Legal Practitioner Edudzi Tamakloe has questioned why the Ejura Committee tried all it could to delink the death of Kaaka at Ejura to his social media activism.
Social Media activist Kaaka was killed at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
The youth in the area who were angered by his death took to the streets of Ejura to register their displeasure at the fact that he was killed.
There were reports suggesting that he had been warned earlier by the District Police Commander to desist from his social media activism which was a threat to the peace and security of the area.
However, the Ejura Committee in its work delinked his death from the #fixthecountry movement which called on the government and all political actors to ensure accountability and a change in the systems in the country.
Speaking on Accra-based OKAY FM Edudzi Tamakloe could not fathom why the committees tried so hard to delink the death of the activist from the #fixthecountry movement.
What are the committee members saying? The District Police Commander is on record to have written to Kaaka dates the 15th day of June warning him. Are the committee members telling us they didn’t see that letter? The committee tried its possible best to delink the man’s death from fix the country conversation because the government feels that if the committee establishes that it is because of the social media activism of the young man who died, the government’s record relative to criticism will be bad.”
