The Etherean Mission, a trans-denominational organization dedicated to self-awareness and the study of natural sciences, has launched its 50th-anniversary celebrations with a call on the youth to prioritize their core values over the increasing influence of technology.
Under the theme “Conscious Living, Conscious Evolution: The New You in the New Era,” the jubilee launch ceremony was attended by a diverse gathering of spiritual seekers, community leaders, and traditional African leaders.
Calls for Conscious Living Amidst Global Turmoil.
The Founder of Etherean Mission, Bro. Ishmeal Tetteh stressed the urgent need for conscious living and evolution in the face of persistent global issues.
He questioned the effectiveness of modern education, suggesting that despite extensive schooling, many individuals remain unaware of their true purpose on Earth.
“To not know the reason why you are here on Earth is a disastrous tragedy,” he stated indicating a disconnect between academic achievements and existential understanding.
Bro. Ishmael Tetteh pointed out that, while society has made significant advancements in science, technology, and medicine, fundamental human emotions such as fear, anxiety and hatred persist, reminiscent of primitive times.
The founder cited ongoing conflicts, including wars in the Middle East and the situation in Ukraine, as evidence that humanity has not evolved beyond its primal instincts.
He called for a shift towards conscious living and a deeper understanding of human existence and urged believers to engage with life meaningfully.
Balance Technology with Spirituality.
On her part, the Leader of the Etherean Mission, Rev. Josephine Tetteh cautioned the youth against allowing technology to overshadow their humanity.
“In our current generation, we often forget our essence as human beings,” she said. “While technology is essential for progress, it should not come at the expense of our core values and relationships.”
She acknowledged the benefits of technology but expressed concern that the current generation was overlooking the importance of self-awareness, spirituality, and community.
Empowerment Through Self-Reliance.
Ghanaian rapper, Okyeam Kwame who spoke on the topic, The Role of the Youth in Building Modern-Day Churches called on the youth to learn to trust in their capabilities and take ownership of their lives and decisions rather than relying on external figures such as pastors or messiahs.
He pointed out that such a move could help the youth stand firmly against unethical practices and promote a culture of honesty and self-determination.
The “Made in Ghan” hitmaker indicated that by embracing self-sufficiency, the youth would be better equipped to resist corruption and bribery.
“This shift in mindset is not just about personal growth; it is a collective movement towards integrity and accountability within communities,” he said.
The ceremony took a profound turn when African traditional leaders offered libation to invoke the blessings of the ancestors and the divine.
The symbolic act added a deep layer of cultural significance to the occasion, highlighting the importance of honoring one’s heritage and spiritual roots.
The 50th-anniversary celebration is expected to continue throughout the year, with a series of events focused on promoting conscious living, self-awareness, and spiritual growth.
