The Food and Drugs Authority has ordered Hills Pharmacy and Alpha Duo Pharmacy to recall all batches of Beltocin and Vernetocin injections (Oxytocin 10IU/ml) imported into the country.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by Chief Executive Officer of the FDA Mimi Delese Darko.
According to the FDA they have identified inconsistencies in the quality of both Beltocin and Vernetocin injections (oxytocin 10IU/ml) during their laboratory analysis.
The Authority has further called on all healthcare facilities including medical stores and pharmacies to return all batches of these medical products if they have them in stock.
The Authority has also urged the importers of the products in question to cooperate with the authority to ensure a safer disposal of the products.
