Social Commentator Kwame A Plus has described Ghana’s Special Prosecutor as a toothless bulldog.

According to him, there are pressing issues to attend to but he busy’s himself with a Municipal Chief Executive nominee who paid monies to Assembly members to endorse his nomination.

To him, the issues bothering the fight against illegal mining and the fact that persons close to the government took over to destroy the land and also sell excavators are there but the special prosecutor has paid a deaf ear to them.

“A toothless special prosecutor is not interested in that. He is rather going after a small fly, the Juaben MCE nominee who allegedly gave bribes to assembly members; some MPs are not interested in the crimes that were perpetrated during the galamsey fight.”

To him, it’s imperative that a premium is placed on fighting such crimes against the country rather than be fixated on issues that have no relevance and contributes no quota to the country’s growth.

His Full Statement Reads

If we used just a little of the energy we are using to fight LGBTQ+ to fight those who stole excavators, killed poor village folks, took over their land and gave it to party loyalists, family and friends – if we use just a little of that energy to fight those who robbed illegal miners of their gold and used government resources meant to fight galamsey to rather engage in illegal mining to enrich themselves, it would have been better.

We all saw a video where a minister who was mandated to protect the environment rather asked party loyalists to engage in illegal mining because “party his sika.” Hon Kennedy Agyapong said he knows all those involved in galamsey and those who stole confiscated equipment. Otumfoɔ said he knows them. Yet they are walking free. A toothless special prosecutor is not interested in that.

He is rather going after a small fly, the Juaben MCE nominee who allegedly gave bribes to assembly members; some MPs are not interested in the crimes that were perpetrated during the galamsey fight. They are rather interested in two consenting adults who want to ch@p themselves. How does that concern me? How does that affect my very life? They should go and ch@p? Is it my “bort@s”?
