Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama has promised to complete the Yendi Water Project immediately he assumes office as the next President of the Republic of Ghana
The Leader and Flagbearer of the NDC made the promised when he paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Dagbon Ndan YA-NA Abubakar II at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi on day one of his “Building the Ghana we want together tour” in the Northern region.
“We know Dagbon has a lot of challenges and so when we were in government we never denied Yendi the needed development. So today, I am disappointed that in all the work we did in the Yendi Water project during our tenure of office have been destroyed.”
“I can assure you that when your son gets into power in 2025, Insha’ Allah you won’t be tasty again”.
“We are aware of the insecurity in Yendi and its surroundings and your efforts to end this. We will make sure it becomes a thing of the past when we assume office in 2025,” he stated.
Touching on roads and their socio-economic impact, he stressed that the eastern corridor road which was started by the NDC before leaving office and witnessed little progress under the Nana Akufo-Addo administration will be completed.
John Dramani Mahama also said it has always been the intention of the National Democratic Congress to upgrade the Yendi Hospital to majority Municipal Referral center and this was captured in the party’s manifesto of 2016, 2020.
The NDC Flagbearer said the party will bring the plan into fruition in 2025 so that Yendi and its environs will not travel to Tamale Teaching Hospital for referral cases.
