John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, has made a significant pledge to upgrade the John Evans Atta Mills Community Day Senior High School (SHS) in Ekumfi into a full boarding school. This promise was made during his Mahama 4 Change 2024 Campaign tour in the Central Region, specifically at a Community Engagement in the Ekumfi Constituency, Immuna Community.
By converting the school into a boarding facility, Mahama aims to create a stable environment that fosters learning and personal growth for students. This upgrade is expected to benefit not only the students but also their parents, teachers, and the community at large. Mahama assured voters that, if elected on December 7, he would prioritize this project alongside other initiatives to drive progress in Ekumfi and across Ghana
Mahama expressed confidence in the NDC’s victory, emphasizing his commitment to promoting development and stability in the region and nationwide. He criticized the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, urging Ghanaians to be cautious of false promises.
Mahama argued that the NPP’s unfulfilled promises have led to economic hardship, highlighting the need for experienced leadership to reset the country’s course.
Some of Mahama’s other pledges include:
- Economic Stability: addressing Ghana’s urgent economic needs
- Infrastructure: developing critical infrastructure
- Social Equity: promoting social equity and justice
- Agriculture: boosting agricultural production and processing
- Governance: ensuring accountable and transparent governance
These initiatives are part of Mahama’s broader vision to rebuild Ghana and restore prosperity.
