Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Physical Trainer, Leonard Akoto, believes his former side going for a preseason without a head coach raises no issues.
Akoto, has stated that a team without a physical trainer during preseason raises concerns since that period demands extensive work but can survive without a coach.
“70% is for the physical trainer and 30% is for the coach. That tactical aspect is very necessary but for the pre-season, the physical aspect is more but is good there has to be a coach but not so much of a problem”, he noted.
“Physical trainer does 80% of the work. If Kumasi Asante Kotoko can go for pre-season without a coach, it will never be a problem. But without a physical trainer, it will be a very big problem”.
“If they have a good physical trainer that will be with them, even without a coach, the team has no problem at all. But without a physical trainer and without a coach, as for that one, there’s a question mark over there”.
“A team going to a pre-season without a coach is not all that a problem because during pre-season, the physical trainers do 70-80% of the work during the pre-season”.
