John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to provide copies of the provisional voters register to political parties without delay. Speaking at a campaign event in Sogakope on Friday, Mahama expressed concern that the EC had failed to make the register available despite requesting external drives from parties in July.
As of Friday, political parties, including the NDC, had yet to receive the provisional voters register, with no explanation provided by the EC for the delay. Mahama’s call comes ahead of the voter exhibition exercise, a critical process that ensures the accuracy and integrity of the electoral roll.
The NDC flagbearer’s demand highlights the importance of transparency and accountability in the electoral process, ensuring that all stakeholders have access to vital information to participate effectively in the democratic process.
