President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved all statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils appointed by the previous administration, effective January 7, 2025.
This move is in line with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), which requires that all members of statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils appointed by the former President or a former Minister of State cease to hold office upon the assumption of a new President.
The dissolution affects all statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils, except for independent constitutional commissions.
The affected entities will be reconstituted in accordance with their respective enabling laws.
In the interim, management teams of the affected entities have been directed to seek clearance from the Chief of Staff before making any major decisions.
President Mahama has also expressed gratitude to the outgoing members for their service and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors.
This announcement marks a key step in President Mahama’s efforts to streamline governance and establish new leadership for statutory entities under his administration.
