Speaker of Parliament Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin is holding on to his guns on his decision that Parliament would not entertain any business from the Ministry of Finance until government accounts for the expenditures made in the name of COVID-19 name.
Speaker Bagbin first made the decision when he held on to a €75million loan agreement for the management of COVID-19.
The Finance minister was scheduled to appear in Parliament today Thursday 16 June 2022 but asked for an adjournment.

Speaking after addresses from the Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu and Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Speaker Alban Bagbin acknowledged the inability of the Finance minister to appear before the house and adjourned the minister’s appearance to Wednesday 22 June 2022.
He however insisted that no business from the Finance ministry would be entertained until the minister’s appearance.
“Until the he comes to respond to the questions and to submit the statement giving explanations as to how that money has been applied we would not entertain any business from that ministry,” the Speaker stated.
