The Black Princesses of Ghana recorded a 2–0 away win in the first leg against Tunisia’s Eagles of Carthage. The game was played on 20 September 2025 at the Tayeb Mhiri Stadium in Tunis.
The match started brightly for the Black Princesses, with Mercy Attobrah scoring the opening goal in the 4th minute.
Ghana created several chances to double their lead in the first half but were denied by the Tunisian goalkeeper, who made a string of fine saves, including expertly parrying away a shot from Sarah Nyarko.
Tunisia held firm in defence and went into the break trailing 1–0.
In the second half, in-form striker Mercy Attobrah proved decisive again by doubling Ghana’s lead with another well-taken goal in the 66th minute. Her brace underlined the Black Princesses’ dominant display against the home side.
The second round features teams that advanced from the first round, competing over two legs. The winners will progress to the next stage, with the ultimate aim of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
The Black Princesses will host the return leg in Accra on 28 September 2025, where they aim to seal qualification for the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
