The National Chairman of the Interparty Resistance Network (IPRAN) Bernard Mornah has labeled President Akufo-Addo an “illegal President” over comments made by Pro-New Patriotic Party Think tank Danquah Institute (DI).
Executive Secretary of DI Richard Ahiagba at a press conference claimed the 2012 biometric register which was used to elect President Akufo-Addo in 2016 was an illegal documents because it contained the names of Ghanaians who registered with the NHIS cards.
Responding to the claims in an interview with Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive, Bernard Mornah said DI’s assertions imply that President Akufo-Addo was illegally elected.
He said the illegality applied to all 275 serving Members of Parliament and recently elected Assembly and Unit committee members.
Bernard Mornah also said the illegality also covered the 6 newly created regions.
According to the PNC Chairman all the elections and referenda since 2016 have been conducted with the register in question.
He said the illegality of the register should therefore apply to the presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo.
