The National Chairman of the Interparty Resistance Network (IPRAN) Bernard Mornah has served notice he would not be discouraged from his pursuing his resistance against the compilation of the new register.
The Chairman of the Peoples National Convention was addressing supporters of IPRAN after being questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for comments made at a press conference last week.
The CID interrogated Mr. Mornah on a complaint of the Electoral Commission (EC) whose leadership say they feel threatened by the said comments.
Mr. Mornah said he was speaking out against what he said was oppressive rule and moves to disenfranchise millions of Ghanaians.
He said he would continue to resist the moves to compile the new voters register and may even embark on a nationwide tour to foster this resistance.
Bernard Mornah has been charged and granted bail.
Despite the CID investigations, Bernard Mornah in an earlier interview with Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive said he would repeat the same statement before the police.
He said he warned his lawyer not to attempt to water down the statement during the CID interrogation.
The PNC Chairman indicated that his statement was conditional and predicated on the conduct of the EC’s upcoming voter registration exercise.
