Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is confidently predicting that the party will secure an additional five parliamentary seats in the region.
To achieve this goal, Moore is leading a grassroots campaign, going door-to-door and hitting the streets to rally support for the party’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, and all 34 parliamentary candidates in the region.
The campaign strategy includes distributing party paraphernalia, such as branded aprons, T-shirts, and booklets outlining the NDC’s 24-hour economy policy.
Moore has also been vocal about the current government’s economic mismanagement, citing unprecedented hardship and overwhelming public debt without corresponding infrastructure development
Some of the key policies Moore is highlighting include:
- 24-Hour Economy Policy: aimed at promoting economic growth and development
- Women’s Development Bank: supporting women’s empowerment and economic independence
- National Apprenticeship Program: providing skills training and employment opportunities
- No Fee Stress for First-Year University Students: easing the financial burden on students
Moore’s optimism is backed by a regional survey, which suggests the NDC could exceed its target and secure up to 27 parliamentary seats in the Greater Accra region. After campaigning in Kpone Katamanso Constituency with sitting MP Joseph Akwerteh Tettey, Moore’s team will focus on Adentan and Odododiodoo Constituencies next.
