Would the NPP delegates be bought?
The answer to this question a student of history and politics Dr. David Pessey believes will determine whether establishment candidate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia wins the upcoming New Patriotic Party Presidential primaries.
According to him Vice President Bawumia will be the most resourced candidate in the primaries because of the backing he is receiving from President Akufo-Addo.
Dr Pessey told host of the Gold Morning Conversation Sena Nombo, President Akufo-Addo would pay anything the delegates demand to ensure Dr. Bawumia wins the primaries.
He said the final word will lie with the NPP delegate who will determine whether Nana Akufo-Addo gets his way or loses his grip on the NPP.
Persistent polls conducted by Global Info-Analytics suggests that the primaries will be two-horse race between Dr. Bawumia and former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng.
Despite persistent questions of credibility, Dr. Bawumia is said to have spent his way to the top of the race, with reports suggesting that Alan Kyeremanteng is struggling to catch up and might lose to the heavily to the establishment candidate.
