President John Dramani Mahama has announced significant progress in the implementation of the 24-Hour Economy Policy, a major national initiative aimed at transforming Ghana’s economic model into a dynamic, round-the-clock engine of growth.
“I have authorized the 24-Hour Economy Policy Secretariat to begin detailed program design and investment packaging,” the President revealed, emphasizing the government’s commitment to operationalizing the policy framework with immediate effect.
Addressing key economic stakeholders, President Mahama disclosed that the draft policy document will be released to the public on June 3, 2025, to allow for broad-based consultation and inclusive feedback.
“I will invite you to help us finalize it,” he said, calling on industry players, civil society, and the wider public to actively participate in shaping the policy’s final form.
The President further announced that the official launch of the 24-Hour Economy Policy will take place on July 1, 2025, Ghana’s Republic Day.
He described the launch date as “symbolic of a new, bold national agenda” that seeks to reposition Ghana as a competitive and resilient economy operating at full capacity.
The 24-Hour Economy Policy is anchored on four key pillars: Production, Enterprise, Jobs, and Export, and is designed to unlock growth by enabling continuous economic activity supported by stable macroeconomic fundamentals.
President Mahama reiterated his vision to “make Ghana a nation where opportunity never sleeps,” and called on all stakeholders to seize the moment and help build a prosperous future powered by productivity, innovation, and inclusivity.
