President John Dramani Mahama, accompanied by his wife, Lordina Mahama, has departed Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for a three-day State Visit to Lusaka, Zambia.
Upon arrival, the President and First Lady will be received at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport by President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia and his wife, in a gesture underscoring the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
The visit reflects President Mahama’s broader vision of an Africa that is seamlessly connected through enhanced transport infrastructure, expanded trade linkages, and the free movement of people and goods across borders.
As part of his itinerary, President Mahama is expected to meet with members of the Ghanaian community in Lusaka later tonight. On Thursday, he will hold bilateral talks with President Hichilema, focusing on strengthening cooperation in key areas of mutual interest.
A major highlight of the State Visit will be President Mahama’s address to the National Assembly of Zambia, where he will articulate Ghana’s vision for a more integrated, united, and prosperous Africa.
The visit is expected to further deepen diplomatic, economic, and people-to-people ties between Ghana and Zambia, while advancing broader continental integration efforts.
