The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has reiterated the need for collective action in rebuilding the country’s economy.
According to her, national development requires unity, innovation and commitment from all sectors.
She made these remarks during the closing ceremony of the National Economic Dialogue, held under the theme “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together.”
She is hopeful the outcomes of dialogue will significantly help in tackling economic challenges and developing long-term, sustainable solutions to ensure stability and growth.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang also underscored the importance of macroeconomic stability, stating that a strong and resilient economy is fundamental to national progress.
She highlighted infrastructural development particularly, the modernization of Ghana’s transport network as a key driver of industrialization, trade expansion and improved ease of doing business.
She noted there was an urgent need for enhanced collaboration among government, businesses, civil society and development partners in translating recommendations from the dialogue into real economic benefits.
She further called for a more inclusive governance system that fosters trust and engagement between the government and the people, stressing citizen participation is crucial in driving economic recovery.
