Financial Analyst Nii Yarboi Annan says President Akufo-Addo needs to immediately fire his cousin Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta and Central Bank Governor Ernest Addison.
Nii Yarboi Annan has been calling for the firing of Ken Ofori Atta as Finance Minister since 2021 for incompetence.
He believes Ken Ofori Atta is destructive to the economy and has proven incapable of finding solutions to the emerging challenges of the economy because of his dependency on borrowing.
Ken Ofori Atta has dismissed calls for him to resign despite the dramatic collapse of all the measures he took address the current economic challenges.
He has received strong backing from his cousin President Akufo-Addo who says such calls are intended to destabilize his government.
In an interview with Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation on Radio Gold, Nii Yarboi Annan said the President’s stance is not helpful to building confidence in the economy as all investors have lost trust in the managers of the economy.
The Financial Analyst believes the Finance minister should not be the only one to lose his position as monetary policy from the Bank of Ghana has also been a monumental failure.
