Former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo is worried about how the courts in Ghana are handling some cases, especially those that involve politicians. She shared her concerns in a special interview with Kasapa News’ Akokoraba Nyarko.

Madam Sophia Akuffo said that the way the courts work should not be about politics. She thinks that if there are problems with a case, they should be talked about based on the rules and laws, not just on how things seem.

“In this country, it has become too easy to guess what will happen if a case involves someone from a certain political party,” Madam Akuffo said. She is worried that the way the courts handle cases with politicians has become too predictable. This means that the result might depend on which political party the person belongs to.

The former Chief Justice wants politicians to be more careful about what they say in public about cases that are still going on. She said that politicians need to think more before they speak because their words can change how the public sees things and make people trust the courts less.

Madam Akuffo’s words show how important it is for the courts to be fair and treat everyone the same, no matter who they are. This is a very important part of any country that believes in democracy. The courts have a big job to make sure that the law is followed and that justice is served in a way that is fair to everyone.

The worries that the former Chief Justice talked about show that the courts need to be very careful when they handle cases with politicians. Judges and lawyers must look at each case fairly, based on the facts and the laws that apply, not on politics or what the public thinks.

Also, Madam Akuffo’s comments remind politicians to be careful about what they say in public about ongoing cases. Politicians must understand that their words are powerful and can change how the public sees the courts. By not saying things that are hurtful or unfair, politicians can help keep people’s trust in the courts.

As the country continues to deal with difficult legal cases involving politicians, it is very important that everyone – the courts, politicians, and the public – work together to make sure things are fair, and everyone is treated the same, and the law is followed. Only by sticking to these basic ideas can the courts do their job of making sure justice is served and that people trust the legal system.
