In a significant stride toward addressing Ghana’s housing deficit, the State Housing Company Limited (SHCL) has officially commissioned the Seasons Court Annexe in Adenta. The commissioning ceremony was marked by a strong reaffirmation of the government’s vision to provide decent, affordable, and secure housing for all Ghanaians.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of SHCL, Mr. John Bawah, reiterated the company’s commitment to ensuring that taxpayer-funded projects are not abandoned but completed to serve their intended purpose.
He emphasized the urgent need to derive full value from public funds, stressing that all expenditure made with taxpayers’ money should bring direct value to the same taxpayers.
Mr. Bawah stated that the government, under the leadership of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, has prioritized the completion of such projects as a key strategy moving forward.
“In line with the President’s vision, our aim is to ensure that every single cedi spent over the years on various projects especially those abandoned along the way is accounted for through their completion,” he said.

The Managing Director further revealed that talks are far advanced to reactivate the Pokuase Housing Project, which is expected to deliver between 3,000 and 8,000 housing units.
He added that SHCL is adopting a public-private partnership approach to ensure that all abandoned housing projects are completed, as part of efforts to close Ghana’s housing deficit and provide Ghanaians with dignified places to live.
The Board Chairman of SHCL, Mr. Ralph Roland, highlighted that the Seasons Court Annexe reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to bridging Ghana’s housing gap through innovative policy and investment.
He noted that the initiative forms part of the Mahama-led administration’s Reset Agenda, which aims to revitalize Ghana’s development trajectory through investment in infrastructure and social well-being. Inspired by the vision of Ghana’s founding leaders, including Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the agenda seeks to empower families, create employment, and drive economic growth.
“Seasons Court Annexe is a vital step in this journey,” he remarked. “It not only provides homes but also stimulates economic activity and strengthens communities.”
Acknowledging the hurdles many Ghanaians face in acquiring homes—particularly the high cost of mortgages—SHCL is actively working to secure low-interest financing and flexible payment options to make homeownership more accessible and inclusive.
The commissioning of the Seasons Court Annexe stands as a testament to the government’s determination to build a nation where prosperity and dignity are within reach for every citizen.
New residents were warmly welcomed to their new homes with a message of hope that they would be places of joy, safety, and togetherness.
