Some Residents of the Tanoso in the Ahafo Region have expressed strong reservations about voting for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate of Tano North constituency, Gideon Brako, citing trust concerns.
Many who spoke to journalists during a visit described Gideon Brako who is also the spokesperson of
Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a dishonest person.
“I won’t vote for a liar,” said one resident. “Gideon Brako and Dr. Bawumia are cut from the same cloth, so I’ll be supporting the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Pius Opoku and John Mahama instead.”
Another resident stated “Dr. Bawumia’s spokesperson, who hails from our constituency, has a history of deception, We’re struggling, and we need genuine leaders, not liars.”
The residents praised the NDC’s track record in developing the area, pointing out that “most developmental projects in Tano North were initiated by the NDC.”
Another resident noted, “we’ve given the NPP 28 years, but there’s nothing to show for it in terms of infrastructure.”
Some of the Youth also expressed dissatisfaction with Gideon Brako’s performance.
“As a young person, I’ve seen Gideon Brako fail to address our road issues, there’s no hope he’ll solve our problems, so I’m voting NDC,” one young resident stated.
An Okada rider said “the high fuel prices are crippling us. I’m voting against the NPP because they’ve failed to address our economic concerns.”
Despite voting for the NPP in previous elections, some of the residents are now seeking change, citing the party’s 28-year tenure with little infrastructure progress.
