Vice presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Opoku-Agyemang has called on the people of the Volta Region to come out in large numbers on election day to secure a “one-touch victory” for NDC and its flagbearer, former President John Mahama.

During a campaign tour of the region, Prof. Opoku Agyemang justified John Mahama’s proven track record as a trustworthy leader who prioritizes the welfare of all citizens, saying “He is a leader who cares for everyone, not just a select few.”

She touched upon the NDC’s history of impactful projects that have benefited the entire nation, including infrastructure developments in roads, harbours, schools, water supply, and the extension of electricity access.

She noted that change of government requires a collective effort and therefore called on the region’s influential leaders, including queen mothers and chiefs, and religious leaders urging them to unite in a concerted effort for the progress of Ghana.

“I know that this is not a journey that one person takes, so I am counting on the queen mothers and chiefs, I am counting on the party, I am counting on all of us to combine and reset our country,” she said.

At Bator, she encouraged people to actively participate in bringing about the change they wish to see rather than merely discussing it.

Prof. Opoku Agyemang reiterated the NDC’s commitment to addressing the needs of all Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation.

Prof. Opoku Agyemang and North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwah distributed essential items including sewing machines, hairdryers, and laptops to artisans and students to enhance their businesses and support educational pursuits.

At Agbozome, Prof. Opoku Agyemang took the opportunity to explain the impacts of the Women’s Development Bank initiative, stressing that the initiative will nurture both economic empowerment and social cohesion through self-confidence building.

She also took time to educate voters on the correct way to cast their ballots, specifically the placement of the thumb beside the NDC’s umbrella symbol, to ensure their votes are counted accurately.

At the HO Central Market, she vehemently refuted “mischievous and misleading” reports insinuating that the NDC neglects the Volta Region when in power.

The campaign tour of Professor Opoku Agyemang also took her and her team to other constituencies such as South Tongu, Akatsi North, HO west, South Dayi, North Dayi, and the Hohoe.

Professor Opoku Agyemang was accompanied by the former National Chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the Volta Regional chairman, Regional executives, constituency executives, and other party senior officials.
