Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Tuesday met with the leadership of the United Nations in Ghana, led by Resident Coordinator Zia Choudhury, to discuss areas of collaboration in support of the country’s development agenda.
The UN delegation expressed readiness to partner government, including on the Women’s Bank initiative, aimed at promoting financial inclusion for women.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang thanked the UN for its continuous support and stressed that the essence of leadership is to deliver justice for those left behind. She highlighted the importance of expanding opportunities, ensuring that policies translate into tangible benefits and designing tailored solutions that address specific needs.
She further called for partnerships that make full use of data in shaping and implementing policies.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong ties between Ghana and the United Nations in their shared pursuit of inclusive development and social justice.
