Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has praised the healthy collaboration between government and teacher unions, describing it as a vital force driving Ghana’s educational progress.

Addressing the 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize Awards at the Cedi Auditorium of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho, the Vice President said government deeply values the productive engagements and social dialogue it continues to have with teacher unions across the country.
She reaffirmed government’s commitment to deepening its partnership with the National Teaching Council (NTC) to further professionalize and regulate the teaching sector. This, she said, is aimed at equipping Ghanaian teachers to meet the highest global standards of excellence.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang also urged teachers to stay open to innovation, mentorship, and lifelong learning, stressing that the future of education belongs to educators who are willing to evolve, inspire creativity and nurture critical thinking in their classrooms.
