Private Legal Practitioner Alexander Twum Barimah has questioned the motive for keeping in cells ‘Fix the country’ convener Oliver Barker Vormawor.
Oliver Barker Vormawor was remanded into police custody for two weeks after a court in Ashaiman denied his plea for bail on the grounds that the court did not have jurisdiction to grant the plea of the lawyers of the suspect.
The ‘fix the country’ convener has been in police custody since he was picked up on Friday February 11 2022 at the Kotoka International Airport by National Security operatives and dumped at the Tema Police station.
Speaking to Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive Lawyer Twum Barimah said the police had no reason to keep Oliver Barker Vomawor.
Lawyer Twum Barimah who served in the Ghana Police Service said the police did not need the ‘Fix the country’ convener in custody in order to conduct an efficient investigation.
He wondered whether the police would have abandoned the investigation if the court had granted Oliver Barker Vormawor bail.
Lawyer Twum Barimah further dismissed the claim that Oliver Barker Vormawor would impede investigations if he was released on bail.
