Togbega Kofi Adjah V, Paramount Chief of the Adaklu traditional area, has expressed his confidence in John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer and Leader, as the December 7th elections approach. He stated that the youth of Ghana look up to Mahama as their beacon of hope.
“Our young people have immense faith in your ability to create a better future, provide employment opportunities, and bring happiness,” the chief emphasized.
Togbega Kofi Adjah V noted that the current level of youth unemployment in the constituency and across Ghana, which has led to economic hardship, is unprecedented in the country’s history. He expressed optimism about Mahama’s programs and policies, which aim to address these challenges.
During Mahama’s four-day campaign tour, the chief welcomed him and highlighted the alarming youth unemployment rate, currently at 14% according to the Ghana Statistical Service. He noted that this rate was 8% when Mahama left office in 2016.
Mahama’s policies, including the 24-hour economy initiative, Women’s Development Bank, prioritization of abandoned projects, and farmers’ service centers, have been touted as solutions to rescue the youth from economic challenges.
