Over 1,000 youth in the Kintampo North Constituency of the Bono East region have vowed to campaign and mobilize votes for John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, ahead of the December 7, 2024, election.
The youth gathered at Babato and MooLine in the constituency to rally behind Mahama and the parliamentary candidate, Joseph Kwame Kumah. They praised Mahama’s credibility, experience, honesty, trustworthiness, and accountability, comparing him favorably to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP candidate.
In an interview with Radio Gold reporter Patrick Asford Boadu, the youth pledged to campaign vigorously for Mahama to “reset Ghana.” They highlighted the NDC’s manifesto promises and policies, such as:
- 24-hour economy policy
- Improving the free SHS program
- Abolishing the double-track system
- Free tertiary education for persons living with disabilities
- Farmers Service Centres
- Women’s Development Bank
- Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL)
The youth believe these policies are more achievable and desirable than those of the NPP. Mahama is set to tour the Bono East region for four days before heading to the Bono Region.
