National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended the ongoing parliamentary nomination process in some constituencies across the country.
Picking of nomination forms which commenced on Wednesday 10th of July, 2019 and ends today has seen quite a number NDC members picking forms to contest in the August primaries of the party.
In a statement, General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketiah indicated that the suspension of nomination processes in the constituencies in question was “in accordance with the National Executive Committee’s decision to progressively conduct the parliamentary primaries.”
The affected constituencies are spread across nine of the regions in the country.
“The electoral processes in all constituencies across the country shall proceed as earlier announced, unless otherwise stated herein,” the statement indicated.
The National Executive Committee has therefore directed that all Regional Executives Committees, Constituency Executive Committees and Prospective Aspirants comply with the directive.
