A Human Resource Development Practitioner Mr. Isaac Kwasi Apatsea is predicting defeat for Members of Parliament who do not openly support the call for non-introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education in the 2020 elections.
According to him, it will be illogical to suggest that the CSE being implemented in Ghana will be different from what is being taught in schools in Western countries.
“In this era of competition, we must pay attention to the origin and source of anything that finds its way into the life of Ghanaians”, he stated.
The Human Resource Development Practitioner said his insight into CSE shows that it is ‘right based’ and encourages advocacy.
“Comprehensive Sexuality Education is a highly controversial, “rights-based” approach to sex education that encompasses a great deal more than just teaching children and youth about sexual intercourse and human reproduction. Developed in the West, CSE is now being implemented in most countries around the world.”
“Comprehensive sexuality education programs seek to change society by changing sexual and gender norms and teaching youth to advocate for sexual rights. Most CSE programs promote acceptance of diverse sexual identities and orientations and have an almost obsessive focus on sexual pleasure, instructing children and youth at the earliest ages on how to obtain sexual pleasure in a variety of ways including masturbation etc.,” he stated.
Mr. Apatsea Isaac Kwasi is of the opinion that Ghana’s legislators must insist that government listens to the chorus of Ghanaians against the implementation of CSE.
“If they allow this to be forced on Ghanaians without resistance from them, a lot of them are likely to miss parliament after the 2020 elections,” he stated.
He has also urged religious bodies to boycott national activities, assignments and events if the CSE is introduced in schools.
Mr. Apatsea called on parents and pupils to raise their voices in advocating against the introduction of CSE if they want a good future because it is likely to break down the moral fiber.
