Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia went to see the Black Stars team before their important 2026 World Cup Qualifier game against Central African Republic (CAR).
Ghana will play CAR on Monday, June 10, at the Baba Yara Stadium. This is the fourth match in the qualifying series, and Ghana wants to keep doing well after their recent win.
In their last game, Otto Addo’s team traveled to Bamako and beat Mali, earning three points. This moved them up to third place in Group I.
If Ghana wins against CAR, they will have nine points from their first four games. They lost to Comoros last year.
Before the game, Bawumia visited the team at their hotel in Kumasi to encourage them.
Sources say he gave the team 500,000 GHS as a way to motivate them for the home game.
The Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, and GFA President Kurt Okraku were also at the hotel with the Vice President.
