Breast cancer indeed impacts many lives, but with regular screening and early detection, it can be overcome. That’s the message from Lordina Mahama, President of the Lordina Foundation.
She advocates for early breast screening to minimize the risk of attracting the disease, encouraging everyone to “embrace this opportunity not just for yourself but for your friends, family, and loved ones”.
The former First Lady recently made a significant donation of healthcare equipment to the Tishigu Community Health Centre in Tamale, Northern Region, as part of her efforts to promote quality healthcare. This donation coincided with the culmination of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month and included:
- Healthcare Equipment: 10 hospital beds, 2 delivery beds, 2 overbed tables, 2 wheelchairs, 1 fridge, 2 baby cots, 2 baby cribs, 2 baby carts
- Medical Supplies 4 boxes of gloves, 1 box and 6 packs of syringes, 1 baby scale, 5 pairs of Crocs, 1 box of gauze, 2 boxes of gowns, theatre uniforms
Mrs. Mahama emphasized that everyone deserves access to high-quality healthcare, regardless of location. “Every donation, every act of kindness creates waves of change, essential to rebuilding the Ghana we want together.” Her message is clear: proactive health management and regular screening can save lives.
