The Vice presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang has reassured Ghanaians John Mahama will not betray the trust of the Ghanaian people if re-elected as President of Ghana.
According to her, John Mahama has a proven track record of serving the people of Ghana with integrity.
“We can (have) faith in him(John Mahama), and he will not betray us,” she assured.
The Vice presidential Candidate of the NDC said this when she joined the member of parliament of Yapei-Kusawgu, John Jinapor to launch his campaign at Buipe ahead of the December 7, elections.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s comments come amid dwindling faith in leadership on the back of the massive failure of the Nana Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.
Citizens have used every platform available to them to openly express their dissatisfaction and anger at the appalling leadership they have been provided over the past 8 years.
Things came to a head recently when Ghanaians took to social media to express their disgust at President Akufo-Addo’s unveiling of a statue to honour himself as an act of self-aggrandizement.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang believes that these are signs that Ghanaians yearn for a leader of the calibre of John Mahama who embodies integrity, humility, and a problem-solving spirit.
“We want a president who does not lie to us, a president who is not arrogant,” she said.
The NDC Veep candidate highlighted John Mahama’s commitment to the welfare of Ghanaians, stressing that he is a leader who prioritizes the needs of his people above all else.
She assured citizens that the next NDC government will address the country’s economic challenges, create jobs, and ensure inclusive growth.
