Ghanaian-owned company, Dredge Masters Limited (DML), a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), has launched two newly acquired dredgers known as the Amphibious Dredgers Classic V series.
The new acquisitions are to add to Dredge Masters s existing fleet to enable it further save lives, properties and livelihoods.
This amphibious multipurpose dredger, according to experts, is able to combine different works that would otherwise require separate machines, including raking, piling, excavating and suction dredging.

Dredge Masters has since 2015 been undertaking dredging works on the Korle Lagoon in Accra.
In an address, the Managing Director (MD) of DML, Captain Ansar Ahmed Khan, disclosed that the Amphibious Dredgers Classic V series have the latest generation cutting edge technology to shallow water dredging.
According to Captain Khan, the amphibious dredgers will not only add up their fleet but more importantly, enhance his company’s capacity to control floods, dredge rivers, lagoons and dams.
He said the dredgers are able to combine different works that will otherwise require separate machines.
According to Captain Khan, the acquisition of the new multipurpose dredgers, was made possible through their partnership with Finland based Aquamec Limited .
In an address, the Minister of Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea praised the Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw-Agyapong, for his patriotism and dedicated service to Ghana over the years, but however conceded that though government owed the company a lot, it has not stopped them from contributing their quota to the development agenda.

He disclosed that Cabinet has approved a 200million USD World Bank project awaiting parliamentary approval to help deal with the many challenges associated with the Odaw channels.
